Dr Inderjit Singh takes charge as Secretary, Ministry of Coal

Dr Indejit Singh, an IAS officer of Kerala cadre 1985 batch has taken charge as the Secretary, Ministry of Coal.

He took charge at  Shastri Bhawan office, New Delhi in the presence of  senior officials  of Coal Ministry.

He took over the charge of  Secretary  after the position fell vacant after superannuation of  Susheel Kumar ,an IAS officer of UP cadre, 1982-batch on April 30 this year. In the interim,  Secretary Mines, Anil G Mukhim (IAS:1985:Gujarat cadre) had been holding additional charge as Secretary, Coal.

Prior to this appointment as Coal Secretary,  Singh was posted  as Secretary (Coordination) in Cabinet Secretariat.

He is a Ph.D in Economics from Panjab University. In the past he has also held positions in Ministry of Commerce, MNRE at the Centre and other significant portfolios in the State cadre.
