AISECT Ltd, leading provider of skills and ICT based education and services in semi-urban and rural India, has launched the AISECT BharatPay prepaid card in partnership with Digicard Services Pvt. Ltd.
Launched as a smart and easy to carry card, this will give an impetus to cashless transactions at district, block and panchayat level areas of the country.
The company is targetting to sell around 2 lakh of these cards within a year through its 20,000 centres, located across 29 States and 3 Union Territories.
The cost of the card is kept at Rs 150. It is a zero-balance prepaid card that can be instantly activated post an easy e-KYC. The maximum amount that can be loaded in the card is Rs 1 Lakh. It can be used for withdrawing money from the ATM of any bank across India. Moreover, the card is operational across 30 million merchants and major e-commerce websites in India, where RuPay cards are accepted. It can also be used for availing the numerous services on aisectonline.com, including utility bill payment, mobile and DTH recharge, railways tickets booking, etc.
The cards have a fully secure enterprise-level security system, wherein all confidential data of the users will be encrypted and stored, and will not be shared with any third-party organisation at any cost.
“According to data by the Reserve Bank of India, our country had around 30.6 million credit cards and 880.3 million debit cards by May 2017. Even if we choose to ignore the fact that many of us hold numerous cards and that many of these cards belong to dormant accounts, a significant percentage of Indians, especially those residing in rural areas, is still dependent on traditional banking methods,” said Abhishek Pandit, Director-Business Services, AISECT Ltd. said,
