BSBK stepped into India’s Industrial sector in early 1900 under the banner of Bakhtawar Singh Balkrishan as a civil construction company, with accolades for being associated with construction of landmarks like BhakraNangal Dam, Joginder Nagar Power House, Chakki Bridge and Halwada Aerodrome.
Commissioning of Bhilai Steel Plant at Chhattisgarh State in 1950s provided an excellent opportunity to aspiring entrepreneurs like us, who had dreamt all along to be decisive in contributing towards development of a free nation. Our operations at Bhilai started with executing road & infrastructure development projects for SAIL, and gradually rose to become one of the leading civil engineering companies, having associated ourselves with execution of projects of national importance for all core sector industries and major government and nongovernment organisations. Our goal to make our presence felt amongst those who shared our vision of contributing towards making India one of the fastest developing country, helped us further in expanding our operations to other states as well, with our prime target being industrial and infrastructure development projects.
Our present focus is on established and emerging rapid construction technologies, which can match our commitment to innovation and excellence in Nation Building. The biggest barrier to entry for rapid construction technologies in India was mass availability of cheap labor, which made the conventional cast in-situ construction the method of choice. However, now due to the emerging scarcity of skilled labor as well as a mass boom in the field of affordable housing, rapid construction technologies have gained much popularity. This is mainly due to its lack of dependence on labor, increased speed of construction, and superior quality of finish the technology helps achieve. Keeping all this in mind along with many other advantages, BSBK is proud to have adopted pre-cast and monolithic construction technology in its portfolio.
We have setup a state of the art precasting unit in Naya Raipur, Chattisgarh and are currently constructing around 6300 affordable houses. The unit is capable of pre-casting around 300 cubic meters of concrete elements per day, which are then transported and assembled on site. The pace of construction is around 7 houses per day. This precast unit is one of it’s kind in India, through which we aim to set an example on how rapid construction technology can truly benefit the nation and along with building our new smart city, Naya Raipur can achieve the ‘Housing for All’ dream of our Honorable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
