A funny job advertisement by the US city of Los Angeles is drawing a large number of eyeballs, especially with the way it has been put up on twitter.
The ad, which seems as if created by some paintbrush loving kid. But it has aroused so much interest while amusing many online with its 90s-esque appeal.
It’s about a vacancy for graphic designer position and features the seal of Los Angeles along with a very primitive-looking mosaic and some cringe worthy scrawling done with a mouse.
The Job Advertisement reads: “The city of Los Angeles is now hiring Graphics Designer.” Besides it states details of the role along with the salary package and the last date to apply scribbled in Internet’s most-hated font – Comic Sans.
In last three days, the ad has over 30,000 retweets and over 73,000 favourites. On Facebook too, the job ad had over 17,000 shares. One look at the cheeky advert will tell you why so many were drawn to it.
The amateur-looking yet effective job ad did its work rather well as it attracted many potential job-seekers. But mostly, Twitter had a good laugh about how efficiently it conveyed the point that the city desperately needed a graphic designer.
And, the twitterati has been responding to it with equal enthusiasm and dose of creativity in applying for the job.
