Cisco takes over Cmpute.io to boost its cloud solutions

CiscoCisco has taken over India-based cloud solutions provider Cmpute.io to enhance its cloud offerings.

Cmpute.io, also known as 47Line Technologies, was a partner of Amazon Web Services (AWS).

It has devised a software solution that analyses cloud-deployed workloads and consumption patterns to identify cost-optimisation strategies.

The solution helps customers in choosing the right of size of their cloud workload instances, minimise overprovisioning, and avoid those resources which are of minimal value to the business.

Cisco has acquired eight different companies this year. The total cost of these acquisitions amounted to $6.6 billion.

The company marked its 200th acquisition in October when it took over Artificial Intelligence startup Perspica .

It is also planning to buy Broadsoft for $1.9 billion.

Cmpute.io is the 202nd acquisition of Cisco.
