Railways to send late train details via SMS

RailwaysRailways has once again taken measures to improve customer satisfaction. Passengers of Rajdhani and Shatabdi will get text messages if the train is late by more than one hour.

Currently, the SMS messages are sent only to wait-listed passengers after the confirmation of their berths.

The new service is developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), the information technological arm of the Railways, and to avail this service passengers have  to mention their mobile numbers on the reservation slips.

Railway will bear the cost of the SMS. There are total 23 pairs of Rajdhani and 26 pairs of Shatabdi trains running across the country.
