The Madhya Pradesh Government has cancelled the permission for vacation and foreign tours of the officers of medical cadre of the State health department, keeping in view the dengue, chikungunya fever, swine flu and other infections.

The medical specialists, medical officers, administrative officers and the members of the paramedical and nursing staff cannot go on vacation till further orders. The directives have been implemented with immediate effect.

This year, 29 lives have been lost in MP due to swine flu and 11 due to dengue. The orders have been passed on to all the Regional Directors, Chief Medical and Health Officers and Civil Surgeon- cum-Chief Medical Superintendents.

The State Government wants to control seasonal diseases and so, the Government has also asked medical staff currently on leave to resume their duties immediately. Almost all the hospitals, whether Government or private, are full of patients suffering from chikungunya, swine flu, dengue or viral fever.
