PM inaugurates new building of AKTU in Lucknow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the newly-constructed building of Dr A P J Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) in Lucknow recently. The University was established in May 2000 but did not have a campus till date and functioned from the IET Campus at Sitapur Road.

PM also dedicated 400 KV Lucknow-Kanpur D/C transmission line and distributed sanction letters to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He also visited the CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute in Lucknow and saw the good work that scientists are doing.

Speaking at the event, PM Modi spoke at length about connecting India’s youth to latest technology. He said, “Our youth can think about start ups and innovation in the health sector, particularly in healthcare equipment.”

“When we talk about science, technology and innovation, it is natural to think about Dr. Kalam,” PM tweeted.

He also tweeted, “Important for the youth of India to be connected with latest technology.”

The Prime Minister congratulated the Uttar Pradesh Government for ensuring electricity in all districts. He added, “Power and energy matter immensely in the development journey of a nation. Today solar energy is gaining popularity in India.”

The PM also spoke about the implementation of GST on July 1st and said that it demonstrated the strength of democracy. He said, “Credit for implementation of GST goes to 125 crore people of India.”

On this occasion, the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Ram Naik, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, the Deputy Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Vice-chancellor of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak and other dignitaries were also present.
