To lead and guide the vision, objectives and goals of the Digital India programme, the central government has decided to set up a Digital India Corporation (DIC).
To carry forward the Mission, the Corporation will provide the strategic support to Ministries/Departments of Centre/States. It will help in capacity building for e-Governance projects, promoting best practises, encouraging Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), nurturing innovation and technology in various domains.
The Corporation also plans to forge partnerships with industry to develop revenue based models for service delivery.
The Corporation will also provide leadership and support to Government of India through MeitY. It will promote digital transactions through various medium. It will support MeitY in all its initiatives with policy and implementation related issues concerning various ongoing programmes and schemes in ICT domain and new initiatives necessitated as part of the Digital India vision.
There is also a plan to set up a National e-Governance Academy.
