Ramaswami N, the successor to Former Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, has taken the charge on Monday at the headquarter of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC). Ramaswami is a 2004 batch IAS officer. He was earlier Inspector General of Registration and Controller of Stamps.
While interacting with media, Ramaswami commented that he would continue the work started by Tukaram Mundhe and ensure the law is practiced throughout the NMMC operations. Ramaswami is masters in Veterinary Science. In the past, he has worked as Chief Executive Officer of Jalgaon, Collector of Buldhana and Satara and Assistant Collector of Ratnagiri district.
The former chief of NMMC Tukaram Mundhe has now been transferred to Pune where he will be the new Chairman and Managing Director of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML).
