Scared by scam, Bihar decides to link Aadhaar with exam forms

BSEB logoaadhaarApparently shaken by the recent examination scam, the beleaguered Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has decided to link students’ examination forms with their Aadhaar numbers, which will not only avoid duplication but also facilitate easy access to documents.

Following the decision, the BSEB is set to become the country’s first state board to link examination forms with candidates’ Aadhaar numbers.

According BSEB Chairman Anand Kishor, the initiative will be implemented from the BSEB’s compartmental exams scheduled for November.

“While submitting examination forms, students will have to specify whether or not they have Aadhaar numbers,” he told the media.

“Those, who do have their Aadhaar cards, will have to mention it on their forms, and those without Aadhaar are requested to apply for the same, so that they can also benefit from the move,” the Chairman said.

The decision was taken after Kishor had a talk with Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) DG Ajay Bhushan Pandey, who was in Patna recently.
