Changing Mindset

When we talk of coal sector, many eyebrows are raised because coal is black. Therefore, people automatically start thinking that transactions and operations are also black like coal. However, the mental make up of the general public is getting changed by introduction of these technologies. The challeges faced to mitigate these vulnerable areas were also there. Also, most of the things that we plan remain on the paper only.

Unless and until it is translated into action, we can’t get the desired results. So, on the lines of railnet, there was coalnet in Mahanadi Coalfields Limited so that coalnet was spread over 700 sqkm of area making the transmission of data very easy between the projects and between the area and the headquarter. Moreoevr, with the help of Optical Fibre Connectivity and radio networking, an integrated layout has been laid for the entire Mahanadi Coalfields Limited so that data transmission takes place fast.

Mahanadi Coalfileds Limited is producing 125 million tonne of coal. There were 40-50 static bridges like electronic way bridges. We also have GPRS vehicle-tracking system to note down the weight of the trucks carrying coal, which ultimately saves a lot of time and energy.
