Vinay Sheel Oberoi, a 1979 batch IAS officer of Assam Meghalaya cadre, has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). Currently, he is working as Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development.
He will be succeeding Satyanarayan Mohanty, an IAS officer of Telangana cadre, 1980 batch, who has further been appointed Secretary-General in the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
