Kerala cabinet has recently decided to appoint senior IPS officer T P Senkumar as the new Director General of Police (DGP) in the Law and Order Department. He will be replacing K S Balasubramanian, who retired on May 31, 2015.
The decision came into the limelight while the State Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy briefed the media during a cabinet meeting here.

Senkumar is a 1983 batch officer and DGP (Prison). He will be on his post till June 2017.
