Reliance Jio to launch 4G services by Dec: Mukesh Ambani

Mukesh-Ambani_4Reliance Jio Infocomm will commercially launch 4G services by December, chairman Mukesh Ambani said ensuring availability of affordable 4G smartphones has been one of the topmost priorities for the company.

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has spent more than Rs.85,000 crore to build a network for this purpose.

The company is planning to offer voice and data services for as low as Rs 300-Rs 500 per month.

Jio has the largest footprint of liberalised spectrum in the country, acquired at a cost of Rs 34,000 crore.

“Hopefully, we will see 4G LTE smartphones in India at prices below Rs 4,000 by December of this year,” Ambani said.
