Upendra Tripathy, one of the senior IAS officers, has been given additional charge of Power Secretary for a period of three months. He is a 1980 batch IAS officer of Karnataka cadre, and currently Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
In one of the orders issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), it is said that he will take the additional charge with effect from the date of cession of charge by P K Sinha on his appointment as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in Cabinet Secretariat.
Sinha, who is a 1977 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, was working as Power Secretary. However, he will now take over as OSD in Cabinet Secretariat, before replacing incumbent Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth from June 13.
