Govt to award road projects worth Rs 3 lakh crore: Gadkari

nitin_gadkarinew--621x414The government plans to award Rs 3 lakh crore of road projects this year for infrastructure development.

Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the government is working on  innovative funding to raise over Rs 3 lakh crore as it looks  to more than double highway construction to 30 km per day.

The government will award Rs. 15000 crore worth of projects to the North Eastern states this year.  Of the total Rs 15,000 crore road projects, Rs 6,000 crore worth highways will be developed in Arunachal Pradesh; Rs 2,000 crore projects ea
