Dharm Pal, Principal Secretary, Department of Social Welfare and Women and Child Welfare, Government of NCT of Delhi, has taken additional charge as the Chairman of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). He is a 1988 batch IAS officer of Assam-Meghalaya, Manipur-Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre.
Pal took the charge from Jalaj Shrivastava, who is a 1984 batch IAS officer of the same cadre and has been appointed as the Additional Secretary in the Union Agriculture Ministry. Shrivastava took over as NDMC chairman in August 2013.
