4 IAS officers in Delhi Govt shifted

Delhi-Govt-logoThe Arvind Kejriwal Government recently transferred as many as four IAS officers. The names include D P Dwivedi, a 2002 batch IAS officer of Union Territory cadre, who has been appointed as Special Secretary, Finance. Garima Gupta, another IAS officer of the same cadre from 2004 batch has been posted as Deputy Commissioner, South Delhi Municipal Corporation. Apart from that, Madhu Rani Teotia, a 2008 batch IAS officer and Deputy Commissioner, North Delhi, has been given additional charge of Secretary, Delhi Jal Board. Further, 2006 batch IAS officer of the same cadre, Mona Sriniwas, has been shuffled as Deputy Commissioner, Delhi Municipal Corporation.

Hardening his stand on May 20, Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) Najeeb Jung had cancelled all appointments cleared by the AAP Government in the last one week, whereas Kejriwal Government transferred all four of them on May 21.

The association of Union Territory cadre IAS officers have sought a Civil Services Board (CSB) to smoothen the transfer/posting matters, whereas Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is expected to come up with further guidelines shortly making the subjects and their jurisdictions crystal clear to the Delhi Government and LG.
