Common Service Centers

Flipkart, recently, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CSC SPV (CSC e-Governance Service India Limited) to help in general operations and activities of Common Service Centers (CSCs).  The assistance offered by Flipkart as under mission “Flipkart Karogaar ke Dwaar” would also let the eCommerce giant to leverage its platform. Under the MoU, the development of ancillary industries as (packaging and logistics) as well as job opportunities in the rural areas have been focused by the means of reducing rural migration and increasing the revenue generation opportunities of CSCs.

Under the partnership, rural artisans and MSME’s are proposed to offer opportunity to build and establish their own brand nationally, access to financial, marketing and supply chain support and at the same time to generate employment and enhance rural economy.

Joy Bandekar, Corporate President, Flipkart spoke on this occasion, “India is home to millions of rural artisans and we believe that as India’s largest marketplace platform, we can offer them a larger platform to grow and expand their businesses. This partnership with CSC SPV will help us provide the rural artisan and MSME community the support needed to market their products across the country.”

On this development, Dr. Dinesh Tyagi, CEO–CSC SPV told, “We are delighted to partner with Flipkart to help the MSME’s sell their products directly to buyers across the nation. This one of its kind initiative will not only create huge employment opportunities but will also reduce the migration of rural population to the urban areas, which is a positive trend for a developing economy like India. It will also make Flipkart’s current showcase of products available to rural India.”
However, this MoU aimed to raise levels of rural entrepreneurship as on the successful eCommerce models like that of Flipkart, is only possible through technologies that are proven, secure and simple to use even for a rural customer.
