Gujarat cadre IPS officer of 1989 batch, Vivek Srivastava, has been appointed as chief of Special Protection Group (SPG).
The SPG provides proximate security to the Prime Minister, former Prime Ministers and their families.
Currently, Srivastava is posted as as joint director in the central
IB at Patna.
