Time for class in IT; Haryana government starts training program for its employees

It is time for state government employees in Haryana to get training in IT to have better understanding of various e-governance projects running in places like Gurgaon. This is state government’s second phase of initiative to train its employees in IT. Almost 34000 employees have got training so far, under Haryana government’s state wide IT-awareness drive.

On the other hand, state govt. has published a revised version of ‘Communication and Connectivity Infrastructure Policy.’ It aims for a full-scale upgrade of IT and communication infrastructure in places like Gurgaon. In view of this, Haryana government is in the process of establishing ‘Haryana Knowledge Corporation Limited’ which aims to achieve mass literacy in the state. ‘ Referring to State Wide Area Network ( SWAN) an official of the state IT department said, ‘ This state has become the first to establish a centralized IT network, connecting all offices in every district on one point.’

Speaking about the IT training program for the govt. employees, this official informed that, ‘We have set up new IT labs in 64 colleges and 2,600 schools across Haryana. The IT department of the state has also escalated its efforts and has begun organizing training programs regularly in government offices all over Haryana.’
