NCR Corporation (NCR) introduced its new ATM-based interactive video technology – NCR APTRA Interactive Teller. The newly launched technology offers ease in over 90% of branch banking transactions at the ATM.

Commenting on the recent launch Jaivinder Gill, Regional Vice President Sales, Financial Business, NCR Corporation South Asia Pacific Region said, NCR is all set to aid the Indian financial institutions for transforming their retail networks.

He further added that the technology can enable the banks in reforming their transaction automations, customer satisfaction levels, sales enablement and customer retention. NCR also expects its new technology to support Indian banks in gaining a new direction for expanding their geographic presence.

The Interactive Teller proffers to help after-hours full teller services in areas which are not served by the bank branches. Navroze Dastur, Managing Director Sales, Financial Services, NCR Corporation India briefed that the NCR APTRA Interactive Teller is a solution to tackle the hurdles of expansion and delivering banking services to the unbanked populations in rural areas.

Additionally, the technology allows more advanced services like performing secure transactions without using a traditional ATM card.

According to an internal study by NCR, the Interactive Teller can lead to a 33% reduction in transaction time and result in 40% savings for the cost-per-transaction as against the branch teller transaction. Apart from showcasing the newly introduced NCR APTRA Interactive Teller, the company also displayed its NCR SelfServ 32 (unique bunch notes and cheque deposit technology) and Voice-Guided ATMS (technology allowing ATM service access to visually impaired and physically disabled individuals) at ATMIA India ATMs 2013.
