Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has established its regional office in Chandigarh. It has been established under the administrative control of the regulators of Northern Regional Office at New Delhi.
The new office would be responsible to look after the regulations of investor protection, financial and investor education in northern India.
SEBI is looking forward to strengthen its regional office as an important measure to decentralise its functions. It has recently established its regional offices at Jaipur, Bengaluru and Guwahati.
