IIT-Delhi students get management, leadership training

IIT Delhi

Engineering students at Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi (IIT-D) will learn management concepts and acquire leadership skills from the next academic year.
The institute signed a memorandum of understanding with American Society for Quality India (ASQ India) to facilitate this. The motive is to make engineering students ready for industry by teaching them concepts like operations management, which includes better utilisation of resources and cost management.
IITs provide a sound technical base to students, and the programme will help students acquire an understanding of processes and discipline in a corporate setting. The course will be conducted by IIT faculty, while ASQ India will help train four to five teachers in each department. The two organisations also planon doing research together.
