Holding that e-Governance is a priority for the Jammu and Kashmir government, the minister of state for Information and Science Technology, Syed Ruhullah, also pinned up the role of private sector to create and accelerate the basic IT infrastructure in the state.

While addressing a seminar on 'Cloud Computing Technology', the minister said e-governance is a priority of the government and several initiatives have been taken to create basic infrastructure at the district, as well as block level. He added that 1,100 Common Service Centres are to be set up across the state, out of which about 500 have been established and made functional so far.


Ruhullah said the private participation is necessary to create and augment basic IT infrastructure in the state.
