Union Labour Minister Mallikarjun Kharge has said that Employees Provident Fund Portal will be up within four months, enabling people to check their PF account on the click of a button.

“We are working on the development of the Provident Fund Portal with our people. Director General, Provident Fund is involved in it. It will be up in next three to four months,” Kharge said on the sidelines of the launch of the India-US standard's portal.

He also said the Labour Ministry will launch the employment portal, that was announced in the Union Budget, by the last quarter of this financial year.


With a database of 40 million people, the Ministry is making effort to start the pilot project by January 2010 in five states namely Orissa, Andhra Pradesh,Rajasthan, Haryana and Assam.

Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in his budget speech has proposed to launch a new project for modernisation of the Employment Exchanges in public private partnership so that a job seeker can register online from anywhere and approach any employment exchange.
