Tata Consultancy Services has opened a development center TCS Awadh Park in Lucknow, India. The center is the latest addition to the company's Global Network Delivery Model and has a capacity of 1,500 seats. It will develop and implement software applications for global corporations in countries like USA, Canada, UK, Singapore, and South Africa. It will also support e-governance initiatives in the states of UP and Uttarakhand as well as select projects for Government of India.

S Ramadorai, chief executive and managing director at TCS, said: “Lucknow is an integral part of the TCS's strategy to invest in Tier II cities and spread the IT revolution in the country. Lucknow has the potential to be a leader among the emerging IT destinations in India and it is this belief that has driven our strategy to invest in this area. TCS's expanded footprint in Lucknow should also encourage more investments in the city to help it realize its shared dream of becoming an IT-BPO.”
