Faceless Governance For Gujarat by 2010

The pleasant surprise may turn into reality if and when the Gujarat government is planning to introduce its ambitious 'Faceless 24×7 Governance' scheme. The state government is aiming towards completing the programme of providing hassle-free services to the people by May 1, 2010.

The government has formed a high-level committee for the same. The committee is holding meetings with all the government departments, collectors, DDOs and officials concerned. At present, various government organisations have been disseminating information using websites and some of them have graduated to the interactive (query from data bases and two-way communication, such as exam results, grievance redressal) and transactional (delivery of services to the citizens, paid services one-day governance centre, city civic centre etc.) phases. Now this portal will be transformed in faceless 24×7 service portals. At present, the work on the project is at a standstill because of the Lok Sabha election code of conduct, but the work will start on war footing after the election is over.
