Department of Telecommunications has invited sealed tenders for providing Mobile Number Portability (MNP) service. MNP allows subscribers to retain their existing telephone number when they switch from one access service provider to another irrespective of mobile technology; or from one technology to another of the same or any other access service provider.

The Department of Telecommunications, Government of India proposes to issue License for providing MNP Services in the country. MNP is to be implemented in each intra Licensed Service Area (LSA).

The bidder should be any person either registered as a Company under 'The Companies Act, 1956' or under the process for registering as company under 'The Companies Act 1956', and who fulfill the eligibility conditions as detailed in this tender document. In later case, the person, at that time of submitting the bid should also submit proof of application submitted to Registrar of Companies to this effect. The company is required to be registered under 'The Companies Act 1956' before grant of license or within three months from the last date for submission of Bid.
