Indian Navy launched an e-Procurement portal to bring forth better objectivity, accountability and openness in procurement activities.

Indian Navy's Material Organisation Logistics Chief (Mumbai) Vice Admiral K Raina said that, this e-Governance initiative will allow for faster, more efficient handling of tendering action, receipt and evaluation of quotes and placement of orders.

The initiative integrated with the Navy's Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS), is expected to greatly improve workflow, speed, accuracy and data integrity.

This initiative will bring about greater transparencyin the procurement system of Indian Navy. The e-Procurement portal would facilitate time critical operational logistics support for frontline ships, submarines and aircraft within minimal cost and time implications.
