Times when farmers would carry mobiles and get informations about the prices of their produce on mobiles is not far off. A pilot project is on towards realising this dream since 2007 end and the response has been impressive. One feature that would make these mobiles a sure shot success in the rural belt of India would be the presence of power free, gramophone type hand cranked mobile charger that would convert mechanical energy into electricity. The charger would also come for free.
Along with these on offer would also be power free, wind up torches and lanterns with cells that can last for three years. With so many advantages it really should not be a surprise to gauge that the project would be a hit as soon as it is launched.
