Kenyans in the rural areas can now access information and telecommunication services, thanks to the alliance between a local technology company and a US-based firm. Kenya Data Network (KDN) and non-profit organisation Inveneo intend to come up with an information technology infrastructure which would be powered by alternative energy sources in places where electricity and broadband options are limited.

The project stand to witness affordable and solar powered computers introduced in the remotest part of the country.
