The Administration of Chandigarh (India) has started the functioning of 3 new Gram Sampark Centres in the Villages of Palsora, Hallo Majra and Mauli Jagran from 17 March 2008.

Under this facility, the villages of Khuda Jassu, Dhanas, Kaimbwala, Raipur Kalan, Raipur Khurd, Makhan Majra and Behlana have already been covered. Gram Sampark Centres in other villages including Dadu Majra, Khuda Alisher, Daria, Maloya and Kishengarh will also have a Gram Sampark Centres soon. The Gram Sampark Centres will provide the various public utility services to rural citizens and also act as a Rural Knowledge Center equipped with an IT support structure. Currently 20 G2C and 5 B2C services are available across all Sampark, Jan Sampark and Gram Sampark Centres such as Payment of taxes, Payment of water & Sewerage Bills, Payments of Electricity Bills, Payment of Sticker/Postal Challans, Telephone/mobile bills of Connect, Airtel and Spice, Issue of Bus Passes, Issue of Senior Citizen Cards, Issue of Disability Identity Cards, Issue of birth & Death Certificates, Payment of traffic police challans online, Space Booking, Tenant Registrations, Domestic Servants Registrations. Passport Applications, Disbursement of pensions of social welfare department, Booking of Community Centres, booking of irrigation facilities, all Deposits regarding Chandigarh Housing Board, Sale of Stamp Papers and the payment of BSNL bills has also been started.
