In addition to the traditional channels for reporting crimes the Government of Portugal has launched a website to report crimes online. Crimes ranging from robbery, trafficking, domestic violence, pollution, assault to fraud and marriages of convenience could be reported. The website would forward the complaints to the relevant police forces, reports ePractice.

The service, run by the Ministry of Internal Administration, aims to make it easier and less intimidating for ordinary citizens to report an offence.
