28 schemes proposed for state under NEC funding in 11th Plan

The Manipur Government has proposed 28 projects for funding during the 11th five year plan through the North Eastern Council (NEC). Among the projects, nine projects are for agricultural and its allied sectors, one in forest and environment, ten in power, one under MANIREDA, three in transport and communication sector, two in tourism, three in sports and youth's affairs, six in health sector and one in irrigation and flood control department and its sectors.

The proposed projects in the agricultural and allied sector comes under a scheme to popularize multiple cropping with an amount INR 340.35 lakhs. Another project is extension of breeders seed potato farm. While the project, development of plantation crop includes citrus fruits with an amount of INR 217 lakhs. The state forest and environment proposed only one scheme with Rs. 2638 lakhs that is rehabilitation of bamboo flowering areas.
