It is strange but this is only fact. As you login into www.rajbhavan.kar.nic.in to check the status of the governor in Karnataka, Mr. T N Chaturvedi’s photo and bio-data will pop up the minute you click to know the details of the governor on the website.

T N Chaturvedi was former governor of Karnataka. This shows the lag in updating of the Karnataka government’s website. Around 12 days have already passed after appointment of the new Governor Rameshwar Thakur but the official website still contains outdated information. If this is the state of an official website of a constitutional office, one could imagine the authenticity of information available on the other websites of the government’s various departments and agencies. The official website of the Department of Information Technology and Biotechnology of Karnataka, www.Bangaloreit.in, which describes the State as “IT capital of India”, contains megabytes of junk and outdated information. If this is the priority given by the IT Department to its website, others like the Departments of Employment and Training; Planning, Statistics and Science and Technology and Transport too are lagging behind.

This is not only concerned in state level, but this is also the status at the central level. According to the website www.vicepresidentofindia.nic.in, India has no vice-president. It may be almost a month since Hamid Ansari assumed the office but the official website is yet to be updated. Ansari was sworn in as Vice-President of India.
