BSNL launches Wi-Fi service in Himachal Pradesh (India)

Indian firm Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has launched the Wi-Fi Internet services in Himanchal Pradesh. BSNL has launched the network interface data (NIC) card for both laptops and desktops.

The data card provides speed of up to 140 kbps. The WI-FI signal is available across the state, including the remote mountainous regions of Kinnaur, and Lahaul and Spiti. The data card works on CDM technology and voice calls can also be made for which charges will be separate. Currently, the cost of the NIC data card is INR 4500. Customers can buy the data card at the easy installment of 150 per month. BSNL will soon come up with 2.4 MBPS data card with faster speed after powerful Wireless Local Loop (WLL) Base Transmission Station (BTS) towers are installed all across the state.
