The Rural Development Minister of India G Chinna Reddy announced that soon smart cards would be issued for pensioners of the Andhra Pradesh (India) .

The state government will also set up ATMs in every village of the state for the convenience of pensioners. The state government was planning to give 2% commission to the post offices as service charges, under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS). The Minister is hoping that the system will minimise the delay in payments to pensioners.
