New York State Health Dept. launches EPHT website

The New York State Health Department has launched its Environmental Public Health Tracking (EPHT) website, which provides links to existing environmental and human health related data.

The website acts as a knowledge sharing platform, and also provides information on health and environment. The website also describes how environment affects human health, and also provides links to projects that use health and environmental-related data. A variety of data on birth outcomes, asthma, cancer incidence, childhood lead poisoning levels and cardiovascular disease, drinking water, pesticide use etc. could be accessed. The website is part of the state’s larger Environmental Public Health Tracking Program, which is funded by the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This project focuses on building a national environmental health data network for states to share data, and to explore patterns and trends in environmental health.
