DOT, India plans to improve connectivity in rural areas

The department of telecommunications (DoT), India is planning to launch a scheme to establish new technologies for pilot projects in rural areas to help improve communications and connectivity.

DoT will launch new technologies for telemedicine, e-Learning, e-governance or anything that would benefit the rural population. The government is also planning to set up 1,00,000 community service centres with broadband internet connectivity this year. The government expects that connectivity will help to create employment in rural areas.
