The New Zealand Government is providing $9 million in capital funding for the Identity Verification Service (IVS) in the country.
The fund will provide a more secure and simple online environment for delivering government services to the public using the highest level of confidence for establishing an individual's identity. The Identity Verification Service (IVS), part of the All-of-government Authentication Programme, is a joint project between the Department of Internal Affairs and the State Services Commission. The IVS programme will reduce identity fraud by providing the secure on-line services to public. The All-of-government Authentication Programme is a shared service, which will provide the platform for these sort of high value transactions.
