Now, residents of 198 villages of Panipat district, India can know the status of their land through the click of the mouse on the site www.panipat.govt.in and www.jamabandi.nic.in.

The Panipat district has become the first district in Haryana, where registry and revenue record of land can be done within 24 hours from the date of receipt of applications for the same. The state government has set up five fully computerised kiosks at each of the tehsils of the district. According to the Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan, the system is transparent and will reduce the corruption and harassment of villages. The system would be fully implemented by June 18, 2007. Panipat is the first district where a single-man function has been introduced under which a sub-registrar will be solely responsible for registration as well as revenue record of the land.
