The State Government of Karnataka, India will soon digitally connect 4000 rural and semi-urban taluks of the state.

The project is part of its satellite based Village Resource Centre (VRC) Project, which aims to provide services like telemedicine and tele-education. The 200 VRCs projects are already operational in 14 states, which are based on satellite aided initiatives. While speaking at the workshop, organised by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), S.V. Ranganath, Additional Secretary, Department of Space said that communication strategies and delivery systems will promote science and technology among rural people.
