EU Survey: Digital revolution in Europe

EU survey revealed that 20 percent of European households buy bundled telecom packages. Almost 30 percent households are now connected to the Internet via high-speed broadband links in UK.

EU has conducted a EU-wide survey on 27,000 representative households, in which 17 percent of Europeans having a home Internet connection to use it for Internet telephony. According to the survey, around 20 percent of Europeans buy two or more telecom products from a single service provider. Approximately 53 percent households access the Internet through an ADSL line, while 34 percent of broadband connections are wireless. Around 81 percent households have installed antivirus software and antispam software. 40 percent of Europeans know that the single European emergency number 112 enables them to reach emergency services anywhere in the EU. Sixty-three percent of Europeans are free-to-air TV, and not pay-TV subscribers.
