e-Governance is to serve all citizens in Bangladesh

The Principal Secretary to the Chief Adviser (CA), Bangladesh, Ali Imam Majumder said that e-Governance is not confined to technology, but is to be regarded as a service, which can be provided to the citizens.

While speaking at a workshop on the UNDP's 'Access to Information (A21) Programme', he urged for a focus on poor people, who can access the activities of the e-Governance cell. The Government has considered the prespectives of the citizens and these are to be implemented to ensure the maximum utilisation of ICTs. e-governance has no alternative but to fulfill the vision of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS). The UNDP has initiated the programme to provide technical and knowledge advisory support in the formulation and implementation of e-Governance projects in partnership with the the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
