In India, Gujarat Government is taking one more step towards e-Governance. Now, peons who are working at the Sachivalay will have to find another task other than carrying files from one's desk to another desk.

Gujarat Government has started practicing of creating all new files online. Firstly, government will implement the system in 24 government division. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has developed the software for the online processing, named Integrated Workflow and Data Management System (IWDMS). According to the general administration department (GAD), this software will create a new era of paperless Sachivalaya. IT and information departments have implemented the software in almost 90 percent departments, while GAD has implemented the software in 60 percent departments. Once the secretary approves the e-File, the file is sent to the GAD for approval of the chief ecretary, the ministers and the chief minister.
