Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has unveiled a software to prevent defalcation of funds from the Calcutta Municipal Corporation (CMC) safe of India.

The CMC's implementation consultant, KPMG, has also approved the software. Initially, the company will install the software in the civic headquarters. The system will be implemented in the 16 revenue collection counters across the city. The civic authorities are trying to computerise its business processes. The objective is to augment the capacity of the CMC and to upgrade the delivery of civic services. The CMC will spend about INR 100 million to upgrade its hardware and software and evolve integrated and online solutions. The departments, including assessment-collection, market, licence and advertisement will get benefits from the software.
