North West Learning Grid for DiDA has won the award of e-Governance excellence for education in the e-Government National Awards 2006.

 

The initiative was innovative, saved schools millions of pounds and was quite unique in the way in which it brought together Educational Professionals across a whole region to produce a commonly needed product. DiDA delivered is now the most commonly used digital resource in UK secondary Education. Working teachers and ICT professionals who really understand the needs of their students has created the DiDA resources. It directly supports 200 million teaching hours, reducing lesson preparation time for an estimated 12,000 teachers.   Adobe has provided detailed instructions about the software applications. Microsoft has linked resources to Innovative teacher programme and provided pdfs of Microsoft manual to teachers to use it for digital resources. Caspian Learning has produced the 3D Game Based Learning environments.
