The consultant, Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) has presented a roadmap for e-Governance for the UT administration in a meeting of e-Governance Implementation Committee held on 12 December in Chandigarh, India.

The meeting was chaired by UT administrator Lalit Sharma and all senior officers have attended the meeting. This initiative step was taken under the National e-Governance Plan (NEGAP). The basic strategy of the UT administration would be to 'Transform governance: e-governance for e-society', which is to lay out an agenda for governance by transforming the city into an e-Society by providing quality services. The administration will offer ways to services according citizens needs and making services more accessible and more efficient transactions by providing better information and increase public participation in governance. The committee has decided to make project reports for business process engineering of six key departments. Firstly the services would be taken up by the estate office, Municipal Corporation, urban planning, excise & taxation, health and education. Afterwards, the services would be integrated with Sampark centres, so that all services will relate with all key departments.
